Meet The Leaders
Meet our leaders.
The power of LarsonO’Brien resides in the experience, talent, creativity and courage of its people. Our core executive team boasts more than two centuries of combined building design and construction industry experience and, more importantly, possesses a proven track record for generating transformational results for client companies.
CEO Ron Larson has been in the building and construction industry for more than 34 years. He was a shareholder of Hawbaker & Partners when the firm merged with JRO Advertising to form LarsonO’Brien in 1998. Today he serves as Art Director for the agency and oversees finances. A firm believer in “if it doesn’t sell, it isn’t creative,” every design he creates is informed by his understanding of its audience and their needs.
Ron spends his free time with family, preferably at the beach.
Garrett Andrae has spent fourteen years developing marketing campaigns for businesses in the building and construction industry. He’s an expert at spotting marketing communications issues and remedying them. Garrett always strives to develop the perfect creative concept for our clients – a concept that fits their specific situation, the moment, and one that will carry a marketing campaign over time and through a wide variety of media. Garrett aims for that perfect concept while overseeing writing, photography, videography, video editing and strategic planning at LarsonO’Brien.
For as long as he can remember, Garrett wanted to work in the communication arts– a goal that eventually led him to LO. Garrett grew up in Erie, and interned at Jack O’Brien’s Erie–based JRO Advertising agency. Garrett next worked as an admissions counselor for Gannon University. In that role, Garrett naturally gravitated toward improving the college’s marketing efforts – writing recruiting campaigns and re–tooling the college’s recruiting literature. Garrett’s ability to persuasively and effectively reach a specific audience serves LO clients well today. After leaving Gannon, Garrett worked in television news as a videographer, honing skills he later used as a producer for Jack's video production company. Garrett still puts his experience in video production to work to produce innovative product, case study and continuing education videos for our clients. He gained further experience as an account executive at JRO Advertising, Inc.
At LO, Garrett has overseen countless product launches, directed rebranding efforts, developed long–term marketing campaigns and produced award–winning work as the Creative Director of ad campaigns. However, his creativity reaches beyond the marketing industry. Garrett sings and acts in community theater and plays in a rock band. He spends most of his spare time with his family – his wife Jenny, son Max, and daughters Maya and Juliet.
Jeff Miskis has dedicated the past ten years to the planning, design, and development of Web applications for the building and construction industry. Committed to working with every client to understand every intricacy of their needs, he consistently develops digital solutions for the building industry that aim to bring more value to the table than expected. He thrives on knowing that his creations do more than serve as marketing tools and generate real growth in our clients' businesses.
Jeff joined LarsonO'Brien in 2006 as the company was taking strides to build a unique online continuing education platform for architects. During the height of the SEO boom at the time, his previous company focused primarily on search engine marketing for its customers, but also designed and developed websites for a diverse client roster. Once at LarsonO'Brien, Jeff quickly revealed a talent for developing a thorough understanding of a client's products or services, which allows him to propose innovative solutions and introduce new interactive possibilities. His ability to develop tools that fuel marketing initiatives, streamline internal processes, and ultimately generate leads has made Jeff an integral member of the LO team – becoming a partner in 2012.
A life-long Pittsburgher, Jeff has put his skills to work to better the community, as well, doing digital work for a variety of non-profits, including local urban development and community outreach organizations, and large public service organizations like Goodwill. Away from work, you'll find him spinning records around the city or taking advantage of an opportunity to disconnect for a while to go camping, float down a river, or ride his scooter on remote back roads looking for photo opportunities.
Director, Public Relations Services Nick Murosky has been making connections in the building and construction industry for more than 7 years. Those connections are with editors and writers at AEC community trade publications, blogs and websites, and have led to many Public Relations successes for LarsonO’Brien clients. More than anything, Nick believes in the power of expression. His goal is to help clients express themselves in a way that is true and compelling.
Nick graduated from Syracuse University in 2005 and immediately started working in the B2B space, event planning and writing for B2B audiences at World Research Group in New York City. When the opportunity to join LarsonO’Brien came about in 2007, Nick saw a perfect combination of creative and technical writing in an organization and an industry full of opportunities.
A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Nick is a community theatre performer, recreational writer, gastropub enthusiast, music lover and father of two awesome girls – Laila and Mira.
Kevin Mayer brings 23 years of experience in the building and construction industry to his role as Director, Growth Consulting Services. Kevin loves to compete, and that passion drives him to help businesses most effectively reach their target audiences in the highly competitive building, design and construction space.
Kevin joined the LO team in 2013, and brings a robust, first-hand knowledge of the needs of building products manufacturers to the agency. Kevin helped establish Cambridge Architectural as the market leader in the woven metal category, and took that business from a startup in 2001 to a $30 million operation and market leader by 2007. Kevin’s extensive experience helps him create growth, profitability and brand equity for LO Mid-Atlantic clients.
