LarsonO’Brien and the University of Pittsburgh named Dana Petry as winner of the fourth annual LarsonO’Brien Award for Excellence in Public and Professional Writing.

The University of Pittsburgh senior communication and rhetoric major with a public and professional writing certificate was honored for her work on an advertising campaign for a fictitious cupcake company. The writing intensive project was structured to target college students in the Oakland area, as well as the greater Pittsburgh community.

The Excellence in Public and Professional Writing award recognizes a University of Pittsburgh undergraduate student whose project entry best demonstrates an excellent use of style, presents a topic carefully researched and supported, is engaging, meets the needs of its readers and offers a clear message.

The panel of judges was comprised of Jack O’Brien, president of LarsonO’Brien, two University of Pittsburgh faculty members and a University of Pittsburgh graduate student.

Congrats to Dana on her outstanding work!
